Will new iphone bring Augmented Reality to life?

The release of the new iPhone promises a slew of new features and functionality that may move Augemented Reality from a mere gimmic to a truley useful tool. Like many developers, I have seen dozens of examples of AR on a multitude of platforms and devices with mixed success. But the new iPhone could perhaps be the device AR has been waiting for. With it’s video camera, digital compass and enhanced GPS we now have the potential to launch AR apps that know where you are, the direction you are facing. It’s only a matter of time before we start to see location and direction aware AR on the iphone.
