GeoTweet? |New API features
![]()
Twitter have just announced Geo Location support for their ever popular API. So what does it mean?
In practical terms it means that via the API, inclined developers will be able to take advantage of geo meta data that is stored when users tweet.
How about tweeting to and/ or following people at an event you’re attending and are therefore within the same geographical area?
How about silencing those who are outside your local area?
Anyway I’m sure once the new API is released there will be a deluge of geo tweets. Wether that’s good or bad remains to be seen.
Note: Submission of geo data will be a user choice, so no worries about accidentally giving away your location
